    Description

    This auction is for
    a porcelain/metal passenger strap hanger/ grab handle from an IRT (Interborough Rapid Transit) LoV class subway car.
    This item came from the LoV cars of the IRT subway, which were built in many waves by a few different builders (American Car & Foundry & Pullman- between 1915 and 1938. The last of them were retired and scrapped in the 1970s. A few still exist as part of museum collections, including the New York City Transit Museum and the Shore Line Trolley Museum in East Haven, CT.
    This handle is 14 1/2 inches by 4 inches by 2 1/4 inches.
    Very used condition.  Chips, etc.  Please see the photos for condition.
