1955 Smith Corona Silent Super Typewriter, Custom Finish, Script Typeface

Description

1955 Smith Corona Silent Super typewriter that has been to the hot rod shop. The shell was sanded, primed and painted yellow. Script typeface typebars from a SCM Coronet were installed and the keys were taken from the Coronet and modified to fit. It has new felt lining and is very clean. It types very smoothly and backspace, tab and margin release functions all work well. The bell is more of a clunk than a ding. It has a new wooden spacebar, dyed reddish. Platen and feet rubber are very nice. Currently it has a bi-color ribbon. Due to the extended height of some of the letters, in red mode there is tiny spot of black printed. Normally a script typeface machine uses a single color ribbon. If you switch to a single color ribbon, you can get extra mileage by switching the color selector.
I do not have a complete case for the machine, only a case bottom. The case bottom will help with secure and safe packaging and shipping.
