This sign is made of Mylar.
It measures 23 inches wide by 22 feet long.
This sign was for the SMEE cars of the IRT subway, which were built in 1955 - 1964. This sign section came direct from the sign shop & was probably never used.
These trains primarily served on the numbered Lines.
Each car had two "signboxes" on each side of the car. Each signbox housed 3 rollsigns. This was from the middle aka 'the lower destinations".
This sign section measures 23" wide by 22' long.
Please carefully review the photos.
