    Beautiful historical VALLESIAE HELVETIIS FOEDERATAE COMMEMORATIO (1815 - 1965) Silver Medal (15 g, .900 Silver), dated 1965. The engraver is Barman. The medal is scarce - at the time of this posting there was only one other medal available online.
    A bit of history.
    In 1815, after their victory over Napoleon, the European powers wanted to partially restore pre-revolutionary conditions. This occurred in Switzerland with the Federal Pact of 1815, which gave the cantons almost full autonomy, and marked the union of the Canton of Valais to Switzerland, thus preserving the inviolability of the extended Swiss territory.
