Folding Hammond Multiplex Typewriter serial numbered F245376-G3 which dates it to 1923.
With super rare, very desirable FRAKTUR shuttle (German Calligraphy) which is nearly impossible to find. Also included is a standard shuttle.
PLUS, this Hammond has variable spacing for 11, 14 and 18 pitch spacing (in my opinion, the 18 pitch is ideal for Fraktur).
CONDTION! CONDTION! CONDITION!
The example listed here is EXCELLENT and COMPLETE. Other than some dust and old oils this example is exponentially better than most Multiplexes. It is exceptionally well preserved. The paint is glossy and the decals are nearly perfect. No significant signs of rust worth mentioning. Clean it if you like or display it as is
.
Functionally, the carriage advances and returns well. On occasion is sticks but that is from lack of use and not because it is broken. The keyboard folds and unfolds without issues. This Hammond is fine for simple demonstrations but a tuning for posterity or for regular use is recommended.
An original case is included.
Again EXCELLENT Condition and with FRAKTUR Typeface! Very, Very Rare.
