"Somewhere in Time" Victorian Collar
Each of these collars is handmade and no two are exactly alike. They are versatile and very feminine.  Whether you are using them for a costume and embellishing an modern outfit, you will be pleased with the look.  Displayed on a satin padded hanger, you have a lovely decor item for a feminine corner of your home.
I first began making these collars to wear when period costumes were required where I was exhibiting my crafts.  Soon, customers began asking to purchase them.
Although, they look very delicate, they can be thrown in the washer and dryer.  Some of my customers cannot bear to be that irreverant with them and still insist on handwashing and drip drying.  Either way, they can be laundered over and over.  Actually, washing them softens them and they still retain their shape.
To create an instant Victorian look, I wore the collar over a simple scoop neck, slim line dress (usually floral).  The addition of a choker and a petticoat completed the look.  Your collar will come with a simple choker which is also hand washable. Flowers will be either mauve or burgundy, my choice, unless you specify one or the other.
The position of the collar creates many different looks:  Pulled all the way down in front; pulled all the way down in the back; evenly distributed front and back; turned sideways for a totally different look.
Wearing this collar with anything velvet is also beautiful.  Some of my customers even wear them over sweaters or tops.  A few dressed up sweatshirts with them.
An older gentleman stopped by my shop one afternoon.  When he came upon the collars, he exclaimed  "You got some of them naughty nighties for sale!".  (I said they were versatile...)
