L.C. Smith #8 Standard Typewriter

Description

The serial number 1016659B puts this typewriter around 1931.  As you can see from the pictures, it needs a good cleaning and removing the surface rust. What is surprising is the action of this typewriter is very good.
Checked for sticking keys - All but two were free to operate. The two were slow to return.
Carriage movement - A 10 inch carriage that performed as it should with key action and space bar.  A good draw band string.
Ribbon spools - Original metal spools that moves as it should with key action.
Exterior paint - Needs cleaning and polishing. Does have paint chips as seen in the pictures.
A great typewriter to restore or use as a decoration. It will type in the condition it is in.
