theme of Corn is central to mayan life
not just as a decorative design but also as their primary food source and also in religious in ceremonies. The famed
king Pakal of Palenque was often depicted as the maize God
. His sarcophagus lid even shows him being reborn as the Maize God. The sleeves on this dress are 3/4
length. The embroidery is done in a
Beige color on Bright Turquoise 100% cotton
manta fabric.
It measures; 26 inches across the shoulders, 25 inches from armpit to armpit (50 inches around) and 39 inches long.
