NYC New York City Transit Authority Subway Token: Small Y Cut Out-Lot #56

Description

Approximately the size of a dime, the token pictured is the token you will receive. Issued in 1953 when the fare was raised from a dime to 15 cents, and used until 1970. They were discontinued in 1970 when the fare was raised from 20 cents to 30 cents and the large Y cut was introduced. As can be seen in the picture, it is in exceptionally nice condition given how long it's traveled. It is in original condition, yet unblemished, with its patina and all of its character intact. It will be delivered in a cardboard flip,nicely tagged. The lot ID sticker is easliy removed.
