    Description

    Condition:
Used, there are no pinholes, no taped areas, no large rips or writing on there.
Not folded so no large creases on here. All rolled up.  Good condition we would say overall.
Please rely on photos to detail more.  This is original material and most of the sign is kind of clean.
There are some cracks and dirt smudges on the top of the sign where the number #1 is and you can notice that in the photos.  After the #2 line area where there are dirt areas, the remainder of the rollsign is cleaner for the rest of the numbered lines and has no taped up areas or smudges.

    escription:
Original New York City subway system route rollsign used in the side destination area to be inside any R21 to R36 subway cars.  The notes say this was taken from inside a R21 car.
We have no idea if accurate, we go by whoever wrote that to be accurate.
This was used inside actual New York subway cars that are now long scrapped and not in use in 2022. If you rode the subway in the 1980's and 1990's, good chance you noticed this rollsign on the side of the train when it arrived in your station.
There is no metal roller part of this. It's only the thin material paperwork all rolled up.
This is probably not the original side rollsign made in the 1950's but a later edition.
NYC Transit commonly designed updated rollsigns later to install inside cars for different uses.
This could have been designed and installed in the 1970's but most likely in the 1980's.
Has each IRT numbered line from #1 to #7, all in the colorful circles for the eastside in green and westside lines in red.  The #7 line was always represented by the familiar purple circle color.
There is only a handwritten notation on the white background in pencil that only says
    "Jan.1996"
That's either when it was added to someone's collection or when it was taken out of the actual car.
That could have stayed inside a work train and then removed or maybe a repainted Redbird car that ran into the 1990's and then went to be scrapped.
