ORIGINAL VINTAGE 'ALABAMA AVENUE STATION' BROOKLYN NEW YORK CITY SUBWAY STATION ENAMEL PORCELAIN SIGN
This is a great piece.  One of two original New York City subway porcelain signs I acquired from a Connecticut estate.  Both are from Brooklyn neighborhoods.  Because I got such a great deal on them I am offering them for far less than most of these signs sell for.  This one is the sign from the Alabama Avenue Station in the East New York section of Brooklyn.  Sign measures 13 1/2 x 72 inches and is in excellent condition.
Original porcelain is in very good condition.  There are some nicks and chips to the corners as well as some minor scrapes but overall it is in outstanding original condition.  The top edge shows that the sign was on the wall when the wall was painted and the top edge is all painted with some drips going down into the sign.  I am sure it could be removed but I will leave that to the new owner.  I didnt even clean the sign and left the original dirt that could easily be cleaned.  Really an outstanding original sign.  A must have for any collector.  If you collect these signs, make sure you check my store for the other one I am offering.  Happy to combine shipping.  Add more for S&H&I if you purchase both.  If you are interested in pickup, that would be fine as well.  I do go to the New York area every other month or so would be happy to meet you if desired.  Just email me to work out details.
