Rheinmetall typewriter, manufactured in about 1935 by Rheinmetall Borsig A.G., in Germany. The Rheinmetall company, founded in 1890 by Heinrich Ehrhardt, has manufactured typewriters, cameras, calculators, agricultural and railway machinery, but is primarily known as the leading arms manufacturer in Germany. Its greatest commercial success was achieved before and during World War II with the manufacture of the MG 34 and anti-tank guns. In 1926 the Rheinmetall company began to manufacture typewriters.
