For sale is this rare Caligraph Special No. 3 typewriter, serial number *5612. Made in the early 1890’s, this Caligraph remains in spectacular original condition, unlike most Caligraphs that come up for sale which are either in terrible shape or have had too much cleaning and polishing and “restoration” work done. The paint, pin striping, and nickel plating are great with only minor wear. All of the keys are present and not cracked or broken. There is no rust anywhere and all of the wooden key levers are still intact. This machine is exactly how I found it so I would recommend just a light cleaning to make it shine again. The mainspring is still intact which is a rarity in itself. I keep the spring unwound to decrease the chances of it breaking, but if the next owner chooses to wind the spring the typewriter could easily be made functional. Included in the sale is the typewriter’s original wooden base and metal case. A Caligraph is a staple for any typewriter collection, and for the collector that is looking for a quality machine - this is the piece for you.
