Description
GUATEMALAN HUIPILA huipil is the most common traditional garment for indigenous women of central America. The style of a huipil generally indicates the
ethnicity
and community of the wearer. Some are woven on a backstrap loom others are made from
commercially
produced fabric. They than are colorfully hand embroidered with geometric designs, birds, flowers, etc.
This huipil is vintage from Charrancho, Guatemala. It is covered in colorful geometric designs on both sides. There is some staining and shows slight wear. The sides have been left open. It is a beautiful piece and a welcome addition to your wardrobe and collection.
For best results: Hand wash. Hang to dry.
