    Description

    Antique Remington Rand model 5 portable manual typewriter with original case and instruction booklet.
    This typewriter is cosmetically very nice. A beautiful display piece.
    All of the keys work beautifully EXCEPT the backspace key. It seems to work intermittently. There is a ribbon, but there is only one take-up spool, so the ribbon cannot be threaded through and used. I love that there is a “Self-Starter” key (which we now call a “Tab” key).
    I looked everywhere for a serial number, I couldn’t find one. Perhaps you know where it is?
    The underside especially could use a good cleaning, but overall it’s a very pretty typewriter.
